SIZZIX TRIPLE PLAY BLOG HOP WEEK 7: SANTA'S GOT A BRAND NEW BAG!

It's Thursday, and that means it's time for the final Sizzix Triple Play Blog Hop! This week, we are using the Sizzix ScoreBoards XL Die - Treat Bag Toppers by Eileen Hull. This die not only has three different sized toppers but lots of shapes to play around with as embellishments!

I have thoroughly enjoy the creative spark and tons of inspiration I have received from this blog hop and group of talented designers!

Now on to my project!

I just picked up these papers and stickers from Melissa Frances Home for the Holidays collection and had to use them! Love the vintage feel, they will be perfect for the homemade chocolate truffles I am going to make for my co-workers!

Here is a close-up of the larger Bag and Topper. I dyed the lace trim with Scarlet Red Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels. The center of the Santa rosette is a Flat Backed Facet from Tim Holtz - love those crystals, they are so versitile! I attached the papers and trims to the die cuts using a combination of Continuous Glue Lines, Ultra Thin Glue Dots and Pop Up Glue Dots - love all things Glue Dots!

This is a close-up of the medium Bag and Topper. I distressed all of my paper edges with Chestnut Roan Fluid Chalk Ink by Clearsnap and used another Flat Backed Facet by Tim Holtz for the main Santa image.

SIZZIX TRIPLE PLAY BLOG HOP WEEK 6: JOY BANNER!

Sorry for the delay in my post today, but now on to our regularly scheduled programming!

It's Thursday, and that means it's time for the Sizzix Triple Play Blog Hop! This week, we are using the Sizzix Bigz XL Die - Album, Brackets by Brenda Pinnick.

Versatility is the key word for this three piece die set! It layers beautifully or can be used for stand alone pieces such as frames, embellishments and more.

Now on to my project!

I used the large window style bracket and the smaller bracket to create this JOY banner. Papers and stickers are from the Jolly by Golly collection from Cosmo Cricket. I stamped on the transparency with the Stunning Snowflake background stamp from Hero Arts with a glue pad and super fine glitter. I inked all my edges with Clearsnap Fluid Chalk Ink in Chestnut Roan (I am addicted to this ink color!).

Lots of other fun glitter, crystal charms, pearls, buttons, ball fringe trim and ribbons used to create this banner that can be left up long after Christmas has come and gone!

Here are some detailed pictures of each banner panel:

Used JOY Chipboard letters from my Hero Arts stash!

I love the way striped paper looks when made into a fan rosette!

I used Pop Up Glue Dots to give the chipboard letters dimension!

The crystal is one of the new flat backed Facets from Tim Holtz!

Love those pearls, rhinestones and buttons tied up with string and attached with Mini Glue Dots!

SIZZIX TRIPLE PLAY BLOG HOP WEEK 5: FOR YOU, MY ANGEL

It's Thursday, and that means it's time for the Sizzix Triple Play Blog Hop! This week, we are using the Gift Card Holder with Phrase - For You die from Karen Burniston. This die can be adapted for any holiday or gift giving occasion!

Now on to my project!

I decorated the front of my gift card holder with decorative papers and chipboard from the Mitten Weather line by Cosmo Cricket. I inked all of the edges of my papers with Old Paper Distress Ink by Tim Holtz for Ranger

The inside features more of the Mitten Weather papers and chipboard and a 3D Pop-Up Gift Card holder glittered with Stardust Stickles Glitter Glue from Ranger. I love the way the FOR YOU is so visible against the red gift card - festive!

Here is a detail of the 3D pop up element - it was easy to put together, too using Continuous Glue Lines to put the card together and Ultra Thin Glue Dots to ahere all of the embellishments!

Sizzix Triple Play Blog Hop: Week 4 - Birthday Wish Shadow Box Frame

It's Thursday, and that means it's time for the Sizzix Triple Play Blog Hop! This week, we are using a Frame and Frame Back with Stand ScoreBoard Pro Die from my friend Eileen Hull. This die has many frame and accent options to mix and match!

Now on to my project!

I like to make home decor items, so I decided to turn the frame components into a wall hanging shadowbox. Using the Brook Collection from Crate Paper I covered the frame pieces in different patterned papers and stacked everything together using a large and small jewelry box as the bases for the shadow boxes.

Since is a Birthday themed wall hanging featuring my friend Karyn's daughter, Mallory I used the accent flower stem and leaf as the candle and flame. My friend Doris created the Ladybug cake, so we had to take a before and after photo of the cake - the only thing left of the Ladybug was her head, but she was delicious!

I used Pop Up Glue Dots on a Roll to "pop" up the layers giving the piece more depth. And since I love to distress most everything I make I inked all the edges of the frame pieces with Clearsnap Color Box Fluid Chalk Ink in Chestnut Roan. I embellished with some twine, rhinestones and buttons. The framed shadow boxes are hanging from a lenght of 1.5" Apple Green grosgrain ribbon from May Arts that I pleated by scrunching it as I ran it through my sewing machine.

Sizzix Triple Play Blog Hop: Week 3 - Beauty Bloom Headband and Clips

It's Thursday, and that means it's time for the Sizzix Triple Play Blog Hop! This week, we are using a flower die called Beauty Bloom by Brenda Pinnick. I love this one because it has four shapes in one die that allows all kinds of possiblities for making flowers. Now on to my project!

I created this cute headband by cutting out multiple layers of the three petal flower with two colors of tissue paper, stacking them on a brad and "fluffing" them with my fingers. Next, I cut the large individual petal and the larger daisy in glittered paper and in Brenda's new line of fabrics from Henry Glass & Co. called Couluer Vie. I inserted these petals randomly between the layers of tissue to make the flower pop.

I finished the flower off with a center of pearls and some glittered "leaves" die cut with the large individual petals from National Non-Wovens Woolfelt. This is the first time I have used their felt and let me tell you that it is as soft as butter. I wrapped the plain headband in green ribbon and attached the flower and leaves.

Next I created a set of hair clips using the large daisy flower and the same process with the tissue paper, glittered paper, fabric and felt.

Here is a close up shot so you can see the pearl detail in the center of the flower. I think that my bear Macy looks like she is ready for a party!

SIZZIX TRIPLE PLAY BLOG HOP WEEK 2: BABY BLOCK BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT

Week two of the Sizzix Triple PLay Blog Hop is here and I am so excited to share this project. Karen Burniston is a genius when is comes to 3D and pop-up elements - I am in awe of how her mind works and translates into paper crafting!

Now on to my project...

I had alot of ideas floating around in my head in reference to this cube and its applications, but when I thought of a baby block I knew I had to turn it into a birth announcement!

This Baby Block Birth Announcement is in honor of my Niece, Marlena Anne Wilson, born October 24th. We have already decided that she is going to be a girly girl so I used the Cabbage Rose and Vintage Patchwork papers from the Paper Girl line by The Girl's Paperie

I assembled the cube die and adhered the decorative papers with Continuous Glue Lines by Glue Dots - love this product for a nice, flat look with no peeling edges. I embellished with some silk seam binding that I dyed pink along with assorted ribbons, flowers and bling - all attached using Craft Glue Dots on a Roll. The glitter letters and Crystal Charm are Melissa Frances and I distressed all the papers with Clearsnap Color Box Fluid Chalk Ink in Chestnut Roan.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN - DAY 7!

Happy Halloween everyone! Today's Halloween craft is a candy dish made from easy to find craft store staples. Using Americana paints by DecoArt stamp Bright Orange swirls on orange tissue paper then decoupage onto an inexpensive ivy bowl with Plaid's Mod Podge, let dry. Stamp Charcoal Grey spider webs on black tissue paper and decoupage on to a Styrofoam cone, let dry. Take cone and press into top of ivy bowl while rotating to create a channel so the cone fits snugly on top. Make a hat brim out of black craft foam. String black beads on to wire and finish by adhering two round stickers to each other at the end of the wire. Push wire into top of "hat" and place hat brim around bottom. Using Lamp Black and Titanium White paint features on to Jack-O-Lantern. Place your favorite candy inside and enjoy! Makes a great gift for a co-worker or teacher. Thanks for stopping by! -Beth

HAPPY HALLOWEEN - DAY 6!

Just checking in with my day 6 Halloween craft - recycled lightbulbs turned in to cute Jack-o-Lanterns! Start off with Americana paints by DecoArt and base coat the lightbulb with Jack-O-Lantern Orange and the screw top part with Mink Brown. Sponge on Canyon Orange to define the pumpkins ribs and Country Red for the cheeks, let dry. Draw on the face with a Sharpie marker and accent with dots of Titanium White using the blunt end of your paint brush. Paint a wooden star with Moon Yellow and write BOO! Glue lightbulb on small grapevine wreath. Knot the center of a piece of green checkered fabric, glue to "stem" and glue star on top. Set him on a shelf or give as a gift! Thanks for stopping by! -Beth

HAPPY HALLOWEEN - DAY 5!

Here's is a quick and easy project for the tweens - skeleton teeth, which are actually packets of gum! Wrap the outside of the package in funky K & Company halloween papers, trim with fuzzy velvet rick rack and create a scary "bone" tag attached with sparkling black eyelash yarn. Thanks for stopping by! -Beth

HAPPY HALLOWEN - DAY 4

Hi everyone, back for day 4 of the Halloween countdown. My share today is a quick and simple treat bucket that you can make for your kids or with your kids! Start with peate pots from your local home improvement store. Base coat with Americana Paints by DecoArt with a variety of oranges, such as Tangerine, Bright, the appropriate Jack-O-Lantern and Canyon. Next you can paint on the eyes, noses and mouths with Lamp Black and Titanium White or for an easier face use Sharpie Paint Markers. Accent the top with sparkling black eyelash yarn and a twisted wire handle. Thanks for stopping by! -Beth

HAPPY HALLOWEEN - DAY 3!

Back again today with more Halloween fun! This creepy little spider's body is a treat box that holds yummy Halloween goodies! Using K & Company papers, I covered the small round paper mache box, created the card, attached the chenille stem spider legs to the bottom of the box and the wiggle eyes to the top of the box and attached to the card. I added a cute "I Want Candy" tag to the front, tied on some ribbons and filled him up with candy corn. Thanks for stopping by! -Beth

HAPPY HALLOWEEN - DAY 2!

Hi everyone, I am counting down the days until Halloween this Sunday with a new project each day beacuse it is one of my favorite holidays (and a great excuse to eat lots of candy!) OK, on to today's project. This EEK plaque with hanging bat is one of my favs - made from an inexpensive wooden plaque, letters and bat shape from Michael's. I painted and distressed the letters and plaque with Americana Paints from DecoArt by first base coating in Lamp Black then dry brushing Georgia Clay on the edges of the plaque and Pansy Lavendar on the letters. I used the Haunted line from Cosmo Cricket to make a tag, cover the bat and plaque. The finishing touch is Black Stickles by Ranger Ink Thanks for stopping by! - Beth

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I made these scary Monster Eyes out of inexpensive paper lanterns from Michael's. Using Americana Paints by DecoArt, I painted a large green circle with Pistachio Mint, a smaller circle with Lamp Black and top coated with Twinkles Lime Green. A Red Sharpie does the trick to make the eyes blood shot! Thanks for stopping by! Beth

Embossed Snowflakes

Hi there - Thought I would share this gift bag I submitted, but was not accepted for the Stamp It! Techniques magazine from Paper Crafts. I stamped the Snowflake Cling Stamp from Hero Arts on a 2" round mirror from the craft store then heat embossed it with Ranger Puffy Embossing Powder. Papers and stickers are from the Very Merry Collection by October Afternoon. Thanks for stopping by! - Beth
