DCWV and Tombow USA Gold and Cork Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Die Cuts with a View (DCWV) and Tombow USA Gold and Cork Blog Hop!  We have 2 days full with gorgeous projects using GOLD and CORK! You probably came here from Rita Barakat's blog but if you happened to stumble across my blog, please go to the Tombow USA Blog (on Friday) DCWV Blog (on Saturday) to start!

Now on to my Bridal Shower Faux Cake Centerpiece Gold and Cork project using the DCWV 6" x 6" Adhesive Cork Stack, DCWV Gilded Paper Stack, Tombow Xtreme Permanent Adhesive, Tombow Adhesive Dots, Tombow MONO Multi Liquid Glue and Tombow Xtreme Adhesive Tabs.

HERE'S HOW I MADE IT!

Measure and cut papers from DCWV Gilded Paper Stack to fit around outside of round paper mache stacking boxes.  Attach with Tombow Xtreme Permanent Adhesive - remembering to snap Xtreme Adhesive off at a 90 degree angle.

Repeat above steps with round box lids and rims, mixing and matching the decorative papers from the DCWV Gilded Paper Stack to create interest and dimension.

Apply Tombow Adhesive Dot to bottom of 3 wooden eggs, peel off liner and attach to cardboard for spray painting with Design Master ColorTool Brilliant Gold.  TIP:  The adhesive dot allows the round object to remain in place while it is spray painted.

Die cut two (2) labels from DCWV Adhesive Cork Stack and one (1) from chipboard.

Peel back adhesive liner paper and apply cork labels to either side of chipboard label.

"Stain" YOU & ME wooden embellishment with Tombow Dual Brush Pen Chocolate #969.  Remove a bit of the ink with a baby wipe to show the wood grain.  Paint the ampersand with gold acrylic paint.  Punch hole at the bottom, insert bird charm on safety pin with jump rings.

Cut out journal card from DCWV Gilded Paper Stack, then hand write names and dates with Tombow Dual Brush Pen Chocolate #969.  Embellish with additional heart themed papers.  Insert into nest using metal memo pin.

Attach grapevine wreath to top of medium round box with Tombow MONO Multi Liquid Glue.  TIP:  Rest something heavy on top to weight wreath down until glue dries.

Embellish boxes with paper trims created from the DCWV Gilded Paper Stack, rick rack, lace, pearls, decorative trims, stick pins, metal charms and ribbons applied with Tombow Xtreme Adhesive, Adhesive Dots and Xtreme Adhesive Tabs.  I used a bunch of products from my craft stash!

Monogram Gift Box Tutorial with CONNIE CRYSTAL!

Welcome to the Designer Crafts Connection blog hop with Connie Crystal!  Each designer received some of the BRAND NEW Crystal Sheets and let me tell you how amazingly brilliant they are and easy to work with too!

Now on to my project!

I started out with a 4" square paper mache box from my stash and painted it with Americana paints by DecoArt in Lamp Black.

Measure and cut the damask patterned paper to fit around the box bottom.  Attach with Tombow Xtreme Adhesive - just remember to "snap" off this strong adhesive runner at a 90 degree angle!

Next I mapped out my monogram on graph paper, filling in the background and leaving the letter white.  Then Start cutting out the black Crystal Sheet background with a craft knife.

Once the baclground is cut out of the black Crystal Sheet, then cut out the monogram letter from the white Crystal Sheet.

Once the background and letter are cut out, attach to box lid with Tombow MONO AQUA Liquid Glue, let dry.

Cut the remaining white Crystal Sheet into single strips and attach to top and bottom edges of box lid.

Now it's time to HOP AROUND to see what the other Designers have created with their Connie Crystal - Crystal Sheets!  Just use the Designer Crafts Connection navigation box on the right hand side of my blog!

PINTEREST INSPIRED ARGYLE WREATH

Hi everyone!  Today is the first Monday in March and that means it is time for the Designer Crafts Connection BLOG HOP!  This month we were to be inspired by a project we saw in Pinterest!  I LOVE Pinterest, so this was so incredibly difficult for me to select just one project, but here goes!

I created my wreath with a "preppy" pink and green color scheme for Spring, but the color combinations and themes are unlimited with this quick and easy Pinterest Inspired craft!

Now it is time to HOP around to the other Designers participating in the DCC Blog Hop today!  Just use the HOP FORWARD and HOP BACK links in the navigation box on the right hand side of my sidebar to view all of the creativity that has been inspired by Pinterest!

Thanks for stopping by!  -Beth
