HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLOG HOP for Ann Butler!!

I have had the privilege of getting to know Ann Butler through the Designer Section of the Craft and Hobby Association over the last six (or so) years.

Ann is an inspirational Role Model, fearless licensed Designer, digital magazine Entrepreneur (with Lisa and Theresa) and a I am honored to call her my Friend!

Today is Ann's Birthday and Larissa had this great idea to throw a surprise BIRTHDAY BLOG HOP!  Each member of the Ann Butler Design Team has created a Birthday card especially for Ann!

Since Ann loves sewing and quilting I decided to make a Spool of Thread card!  Now, as most of you know, I am not a scrapbooker or a card maker, but I have to say that I love the way this card turned out!  Cute, cute, cute!

Here's what you will need:
Here's how to make it:

1.) Measure a 6" by 6" square on scrap paper.  Create an "X" by drawing straight lines from corner to corner, diagonally.  Measure in 1" on each side and draw straight lines intersecting with diagonal lines to create spool shape.  Fold 12" by 12" piece of Kraft Cardstock in half.  Trace and cut out spool, leaving fold at top edge.

2.) Stamp Colorbox® Background Basics Stamps by Ann Butler Diamond along top and bottom of spool with Ann Butler Crafter’s® Ink by Clearsnap Bark, let dry.

4.) Wrap stamped twill tape around center section of spool and secure with Tombow Xtreme Permanent Adhesive.  Tie 6" length of stamped twill tape in a knot and secure to front with Tombow Xtreme Power Tabs.  Attach green button to center of knot.

5.) Stamp Colorbox® Background Basics Stamps by Ann Butler Checks on lavender cardstock with Ann Butler Crafter’s® Ink by Clearsnap Lilac, let dry.  Write sentiment on stamped square with Tombow MONO Twin Permanent Marker.  Cut a notched end and attach to front of card with Tombow Xtreme Power Tabs.

6.)  Stamp Colorbox® Background Basics Stamps by Ann Butler Woven on pink cardstock with Ann Butler Crafter’s® Ink by Clearsnap Berry, let dry.  Write sentiment on stamped square with Tombow MONO Twin Permanent Marker.  Attach to inside of card with Tombow Xtreme Permanent Adhesive.

I hope that you have enjoyed my special stamped Spool of Thread card for Ann's Birthday!  Please HOP around to the other Design Team Members' blogs listed at the bottom of my post.

Now it's YOUR turn to wish Ann a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  Just visit her blog at Ann Butler Designs and link up your card.
